Who Said Anniversaries and Football Don't Mix?

Yesterday was our Wedding anniversary. I have now been married as long as I was single. It seems like a long time, but, not. Anyway, Kyle has told me for years that if the Titans ever play the Colts on Monday night here in Nashville, he wanted to go. He is a Colts fan. Well, back in the spring when Kyle was busy working and not thinking about football, yet (weird) , I found out that the Colts were coming to Nashville on our anniversary. I called dad to find out when the tickets went on sale because it wasn't on their website yet. He told me to call Jeremy and see if he was able to get tickets through work. He got the tickets! Great Seats! Parking Pass!

We got behind an elderly gentleman on the way to the game that was driving slow, running red lights and driving in the other lane. He hit a truck while driving in the wrong lane. It was scary! I had to call 911. We turned on our road and he kept going straight. I hope he is okay.

It was chilly. A cold front came through and we are having December weather in October, but it was fun. The Titans lost, but he didn't lose his fantasy football game, so all was okay (he has Peyton Manning for his quarterback). All in all, it was a Happy Anniversary!

Contest of Champions and High School Graduation

On Saturday we drove to Murfreesboro to see Hannah perform in COC. This is her last high school band competition. I have mixed feelings about this. I am glad band is over because it is so time consuming, but I am also sad because it means we are getting closer to sending Hannah away to college.
The band made the finals which is good for them. It has never been done before by RHS band. They finished 8th over all and were a little disappointed, but they laid the foundation this year for the band to build on and be even better in the years to come. They also got 2nd in their class.
The picture below is when they first come out on to the field and pose waiting to begin the competition. I know the pics aren't great. My battery was dead on my camera, so I had to make do with my phone once again.

Their show is called "Inner Self"
Confidence
Vulnerability
Realization
Acceptance

In the picture below they form a Raptor. They are the Ravenwood Raptors.

On a side note... I just got an email about Hannah's graduation. She will graduate on Saturday, May 23 at 11:30am, at the Belmont University Curb Event Center.

Music City Invitational

On Saturday, at 2pm, Hannah and the Ravenwood High School Band performed in the
Music City Invitational or MCI. In the picture below, they are going to their starting position after "striking a pose" upon entering the field.

Hannah is the 3rd one back on the far right row. Go Flutes!

The band performed their best show to date.

Here is their big ending.

In the preliminaries the color guard, field commanders and band received trophies for superior performances. They were in the top twelve bands and went to finals. They played again at 9:45pm. After a very long day and cold night the band walked away with 1st place in their class and 4th overall. Ravenwood is a new school and is still building the band program. This is the best the band has ever done in this competition. We are so proud of Hannah for all the hard work she is putting in and the accomplishment the band received.

This Saturday the band has their biggest and final competition at MTSU. It is the Contest of Champions. They play at 2pm. We wish the band and Hannah the best of luck!

Can you believe that I actually remembered to take the camera? (actually Kyle did) Hopefully we will remember it on Saturday. Now if only I could get a zoom lens to get the close up of Hannah! She would just love that! ( just kidding! )

Senior Night

I can't believe Hannah is a senior. She is applying for colleges and all that fun stuff. Well, on Friday October 3, Ravenwood had Senior Night for all of the senior football players, cheerleaders, chorale and band kids. We had to march out on the field before the game and then the announcer went down the line and introduced each senior escorted by their parents. I do have to say, the band underclassmen really did a good job cheering as each band senior was recognized. They put the others to shame. Hannah thought is was really weird not marching out on the field and to the stands with the band.

As usual, I forgot my camera. Kyle took a picture with his phone and we had another parent take one of all three of us. Well, Kyle is having trouble with the one of all three of us, so there is only one picture. It is of Hannah and I. Kyle says that in this picture we are making fun of someone. Never!

Soccer Games and Colds & Allergies Oh My!

Savannah is playing soccer this fall. Her team name is the Kicks. They have lost 4 games and won 1 game. It has been a pretty brutal season to watch. Let's just say there are 3 girls on the team that either don't know how to kick the ball or run fast. This is the first time Savannah's team is the one losing all the games. Savannah is still enjoying soccer though. That is good. Maybe her team will be better in the spring.

In the middle of all this fun Savannah and Zachary have started the sneezing and everything that goes along with allergies. Hurry and kick in Zyrtec! I have been in bed for 2 days with a cold I guess.

Well that is it for now. Hannah had senior night on Friday and I'll post pictures soon.

The Frog Saga Continues...

Today at 9:16 am Kermit the frog died a lonely miserable death. Did he receive the death penalty or was he haunted by Bonnie? I guess we will never know. Zachary will be sad when he comes home from school today. We just aren't cut out to have frogs or fish. They never live long.

Savannah's 13th Birthday

Yesterday was Savannah's 13th birthday. I can't believe she is 13! We has some of the family over for chocolate cake and cookies & cream, vanilla and chocolate ice cream. Do you think we had enough ice cream? Savannah loved getting cards and phone calls from family and friends. She loved hearing Raven and Tessa talk! Her birthday list wasn't very specific, so she got cash and gift cards, so I can take her shopping for what she wants, when I am able to find gas to put in my tank. She also got Guitar Hero for her DS.
We also said our good-byes to Candace, Matt, Will, and Lily. I am not good at good-byes, but we did good. No tears! I hope all goes well with them in Utah. We will miss you! If all goes like we plan we will at least see them next fall when we take Hannah out there for school. Well, I guess that is all for now.
