The RHS band marching to the stands before the game. We think Hannah is the 5th one back on the near side. The RHS Band getting ready to perform. Go Hannah!

Fans running out on the field after we just won!

Last night we went to see Ravenwood High School play Brentwood Academy and of course the the RHS band play, with Hannah at the flute. We were expecting to get blown out and to go home after the half time show. Brentwood Academy is ranked third in TN and no county school had ever beaten them. It was a close game. Ravenwood was down 21-14 with the ball at their own 2 yard line with a minute and 12 seconds left in the game and one time out. They drove the length of the field and scored with 6 seconds left in the game and then completed a slant route for a 2 point conversion to win 22-21. It was Ravenwood's home opener. Go Ravenwood! I forgot my camera so Kyle took some pictures with his phone. We tried to get the score board but the lights blurred in the picture.

Bye the way thank you Kyle for helping out with the football game comentary!

Chipped Tooth!

We are having a fun first week of school. The kids are still hating that summer is over. They are getting homework everyday and don't like getting up early. We had finally reached Friday! They can sleep in on Saturday! I get a call from the nurse at Sunset Elementary telling me that Zachary is okay but he fell on the playground and chipped his tooth. It was 3:30 in the afternoon and the dentist office is closed, so we have to wait until Monday to try to get an appointment to get it fixed. Zachary isn't in pain, other than his tooth being sensitive to hot/cold temperatures.

Sunburns and Back to School... Are we having fun yet?

First day of school

Well, the girls had a youth lake day activity on Saturday. They say that they put on sunblock, but both came home with sunburns. Hannah has an all over sunburn and can't hardly walk, sit or stand. Savannah normally just tans, but she is using a medicine on her face for keratosis pilaris that makes her skin sunburn easy. She has sunburn blisters on her face and is in pain. This is her first sunburn and I don't think she will ever forget to put on sunblock again.

Now if that weren't fun enough. The kids started school today. Hannah has homework already and is missing the summer already. Savannah has some teachers that may be mean, (the verdict isn't out yet) but she got the PE coach she wanted and she can socialize with her friends, so she is mostly happy for now. Zachary started the 4th grade and is unhappy that summer is over. His best friend is in his class, so he is happy with that, but he had homework today and he has to right a five paragraph essay tomorrow. ( Not his favorite thing to do)

So now I am back to carpool lines, band competitions, football games, soccer practice and games, turning my bank account over to the Williamson County public school system, and kids that are sunburned and are unhappy that summer is over! Are we having fun yet?

No More Braces! Almost!

Hannah got most of her braces off today! She just has six brackets left on the bottom front teeth until she gets her retainer in two weeks. Hannah has craved peanuts, crunchy peanut butter, peanut m&m's, stride gum, movie theater popcorn, and Snickers. She has already eaten the m&m's and peanuts. Tonight she will get to feast on the things she hasn't been able to eat in a LONG TIME, except the Snickers. I think she better wait to get the bottom bracket of first for that one.

Summer is Coming to a Close

Well, last night was the end of Hannah's band camp. They performed what they had worked on all week for the parents. I took some pictures with my phone. With the end of band camp we now have only one week left of precious summer fun and relaxation. TOO SAD!
