On Thursday night the girls and I went to see the pre-premier of Twilight, We know someone that rented out a theater for the premier originally for midnight, but after the theater manager got hooked on the books, she moved it up to 10pm. We were all wearing the same shirts made just for the group. I thought the movie was cheesy, but knew it would be before I went. I won't write anymore about that so I don't spoil the movie for anyone that hasn't seen it yet. I enjoyed getting to spend time with the girls and do something fun. We will always remember staying out late on a school night to watch the movie.

3D Polar Express
I was excited when the polar express came out on DVD in 3D. Kyle and I took the kids to see it on Imax and we loved it, and anxiously waited for it to be released in 3D. Well, I bought it. It comes with four 3D glasses. Kyle went out and bought more so we would have enough for our family and we were all set to watch it on Monday night. Now, I know it isn't Christmas yet, but we couldn't wait.
It was awful! for the first part of the movie everything is red and blurry. The picture is never clear and the color is off. We stuck it out for the whole movie (not smart or recommended) and at the end our eyes were sore. If you haven't bought this movie yet, you have been warned, buy at your own risk! I personally think Warner Bros. should issue refunds to anyone who has purchased this eyesore (get it?). It does play in 2D, but we bought it for the fun of 3D. I thought maybe it was just the cheap 3D glasses, so I looked on amazon to purchase some better ones. The reviews for the glasses were great, unless you were using them for Polar express. I guess we aren't the only ones that have issues with the 3D version. I just thought in this tough economy I would stop the rest of you from purchasing this disaster.

Imprisoned by "Kindergarten Words"?
Zachary's teacher emailed the parents of the students in her class yesterday letting us know that bad language was being used. She said the problem started on the bus and then spread to the playground. They started out by punishing the students saying the bad and offending words. The problem is growing, so she sent a list of words that the students are not allowed to use, aside from the big offenders. (yes, you know what they are) The list of words are... shut up, sucked, jacked, crap and frickin. If any student says these words they have to sign the responsibility notebook, and if continues, they will go see the principal. Now at our house we don't use any of those words except the occasional "crap". Well, after getting this email, we had a family meeting where I explained that these words were on the list and banned from our house. No to bad, huh?
Well, Zachary gets very upset about not being able to say crap. Can you believe that? I told him he could say, "oh darn" or "oh shoot" or if he could think of something else that would work, he could use that . He got really upset and said, "Those are Kindergarten words mom! I'm not in Kindergarten, I'm in 4th grade!" I sure would hate to think what the words would be for a 30 something!

The Halloween with No Pictures...
By battery is dead on my camera and I can't find the charger, so when Halloween came I had no camera for pictures. My thyroid is messed up and my hands shake. Because of this, I can't take pictures with my phone because the picture just comes out blurry. So no Halloween pictures.
Anyway, Hannah wasn't going to dress up this year because Ravenwood had a football game on Halloween night. They had to wear their band uniforms. Then, at the last minute (2 days before Halloween) I received an email that the band was doing a trunk or treat after band practice on the 30th. Hannah dressed up as Snow White. This is quite fitting for her. When she was three years old she wanted to be, and was, Snow White. She also would tell everyone for many years that she wasn't Hannah, but Snow White.
Savannah wasn't going to dress up this year. She thought she was too old to dress up. Then the day before Halloween, she decides that she wants all the candy and so she will dress up. In case you are ever in this situation, let me tell you now, that for a teenage girl the only costumes available last minute lack enough material to cover you teenager. You can't go trick or treating without a costume so Savannah was "smarty pants". We taped smarties to her pants. For anyone wanting to try this in the future... the tape didn't stick well and so by the time we got to the last house all the smarties were gone. Oh, well. She still had fun and the neighbors got a kick out of her costume.
Now Zachary thought about his costume well in advance and we bought it in the middle of October. (thank you Zachary) He was a Jedi from Star Wars. His costume had the brown hooded cape. He also got to carry a Light saber. Nothing better than a costume that allows you to carry a weapon. (or mom by the end of trick or treating)

Proof Read
Okay, so on my last post I wrote that the Titans lost and I didn't realize it until today when John pointed it out to me. Oops! I did proof read, I just missed that one. The Titans won. Sorry Titans fans!

Who Said Anniversaries and Football Don't Mix?
Yesterday was our Wedding anniversary. I have now been married as long as I was single. It seems like a long time, but, not. Anyway, Kyle has told me for years that if the Titans ever play the Colts on Monday night here in Nashville, he wanted to go. He is a Colts fan. Well, back in the spring when Kyle was busy working and not thinking about football, yet (weird) , I found out that the Colts were coming to Nashville on our anniversary. I called dad to find out when the tickets went on sale because it wasn't on their website yet. He told me to call Jeremy and see if he was able to get tickets through work. He got the tickets! Great Seats! Parking Pass!
We got behind an elderly gentleman on the way to the game that was driving slow, running red lights and driving in the other lane. He hit a truck while driving in the wrong lane. It was scary! I had to call 911. We turned on our road and he kept going straight. I hope he is okay.
It was chilly. A cold front came through and we are having December weather in October, but it was fun. The Titans lost, but he didn't lose his fantasy football game, so all was okay (he has Peyton Manning for his quarterback). All in all, it was a Happy Anniversary!

Contest of Champions and High School Graduation
On Saturday we drove to Murfreesboro to see Hannah perform in COC. This is her last high school band competition. I have mixed feelings about this. I am glad band is over because it is so time consuming, but I am also sad because it means we are getting closer to sending Hannah away to college.
The band made the finals which is good for them. It has never been done before by RHS band. They finished 8th over all and were a little disappointed, but they laid the foundation this year for the band to build on and be even better in the years to come. They also got 2nd in their class.
The picture below is when they first come out on to the field and pose waiting to begin the competition. I know the pics aren't great. My battery was dead on my camera, so I had to make do with my phone once again.
Confidence
Vulnerability
Realization
Acceptance
In the picture below they form a Raptor. They are the Ravenwood Raptors.
On a side note... I just got an email about Hannah's graduation. She will graduate on Saturday, May 23 at 11:30am, at the Belmont University Curb Event Center.
