When I was leaving it was time for the kids to be dismissed to their classrooms for the morning. They have a new counselor for the kids that was giving the kids high five and telling them "Happy Morning! Have a great day!" Their were lots of smiles in that hall. I am not a morning person and it even made me smile. So for all those people like me that hate the mornings, Happy Morning to you!

Parade of Homes and Happy Mornings
Zachary's class made homes out of card board boxes and used a battery to make the house have lights. Zachary was so excited about this. He took some of his Halo toys to be the occupants of this house. He made this house with another boy in his class, that also goes to church with us. It is a true boy home. Just a bed and lots of room for fighting and wrestling around. They even put holes in the wall that they had to cover with wallpaper. True fun for a boy! The girls of course had pink homes with dishes, furniture barbies and pets.
Today they had a Parade of Homes. I went this morning to see his home. He was excited for me to see it. Great job Zachary!
The Waiting is over...
Hannah has heard back from the school she really wanted to go to. She will get a half tuition scholarship. For her privacy I will not say which school it is. I will say that it is not close to home and it is in the western part of the US. Anyone interested in knowing what school it is, can shoot an email our way or a phone call. Sorry. I just don't want to put it on here in case someone I don't know reads this. She is very excited and she has a friend here that will be going as well. They want to room together. We are excited for Hannah, but we dread her leaving home. Sad:(

The College Waiting Game
Hannah sent out all of her college applications last fall. We have heard from one. It is a state school. They have even offered her a scholarship. She would probably go for free. She has one school that she wants to attend. It is not close to home. She was told not to expect an answer until after Feb. 27. She got an email over the weekend letting her know she could get an answer from them anytime. Now she will be checking their website everyday to see if she has been accepted. The college waiting game continues!

My New Friend
We have had really cold weather this year. I love to walk, but I won't walk when it is in the 20's or 30's. Call me a wimp. I miss my walking/jogging. Kyle and I decided to buy this wonderful treadmill. Now I can walk and not be grumpy even when it is cold. I have a feeling this treadmill and I are going to be great friends.

No School Today!
The kids are out of school today! They closed because it is cold and they didn't want the kids walking to school in the cold. It was 1 degree this morning and it felt even colder. We are having record cold temperatures. Anyway we are enjoying staying inside and watching some movies! Hope everyone else is staying warm through this cold weather!

Hello Again!
I have been out of the blogging world since just before Christmas. We had a great Christmas. The gifts were great and it was good to see family. After Christmas Savannah and Zachary got a wonderful stomach bug and when they recovered, Kyle got a double ear infection and strep just in time to ring in the new year. Everyone is well other than the sniffles and colds that come with our wonderful weather that jumps from 65 degrees to 30. I have no pictures to post from Christmas ( I am being nice to Hannah and not posting the annual Christmas morning stand on the steps from youngest to oldest before we can see our gifts).
I know it is hard to believe that I have no words of wisdom. What can I say. I guess all I can say is hello.

Light the Night with Luminaries
Every year on the second Saturday in December, our city lights luminaries and places them on the curb to light the neighborhood streets. Most neighborhoods participate. It is really pretty with the neighborhood lit up. People come to the area just to see the lights. They say that airplanes taking off and landing in the area can see all the lights.
This tradition comes from a Mexican tradition of lighting a bonfire on Christmas Eve.
It was a pain for Kyle to set up and it took a while, but it was pretty when it was done.
